“Children Masters”
On February 7, the next participant of the “Children Masters” project held at the Alexander Spendiaryan House-Museum was 10-year-old Eduard Makaryan, a student of the H. Danielyan School of Arts. Eduard studies in the saxophone department of the school (teacher: Narine Ghukasyan) and is a laureate of several competitions and festivals. Gifted with an exceptional memory, the boy is already a five-time record holder in the Dyutsaznagirq (Book of Heroes): in 2 minutes he can list the flags of the countries of the world. With his eyes closed and at great speed, he can name the countries of Europe, Asia, and Africa, maintaining the sequence of their possible bordering order.
Those present were convinced that Eduard is a multi-talented child. Among the attendees who admired and encouraged him were well-known figures from the music world: Chairman of the Composers’ Union and composer Aram Satyan, House-Museum Director Marine Otaryan, conductor Ruben Asatryan, composers Narine Zarifyan, Edgar Gyanjumian, Edmond Makaryan, Naira Divanyan, Vahe Hayrapetyan, musicologist Narine Avetisyan, Artistic Director of the “Hay Astgher” Dance Ensemble Suren Khachatryan, and others. During the event, works by Armenian and European composers were performed by Eduard and his friends, joined by his saxophone teacher Narine Ghukasyan. As per tradition, the event was prepared and hosted by Inessa Khachatryan, Head of the Exhibitions and Educational Programs Department of the house-museum.
