"Children-Masters"
Continuing its "Children-Masters" project, the Alexander Spendiaryan House-Museum hosted 13-year-old Luiza Melkumyan, a pupil at the Alexey Hekimyan Music School, on April 6.
Luiza began her musical journey at the age of 8, choosing the qanun as her instrument. Two years later, she also took up another traditional instrument — the santur.
She has participated in numerous local and international competitions and festivals, achieving outstanding results.
During the concert, Luiza performed on both the qanun and the santur, presenting works by A. Spendiaryan, Komitas, K. Avetisyan, M. Beglaryan, and others, accompanied by Marine Mkrtchyan and Nazik Hovhannisyan.
At the conclusion of the concert, Luiza performed Hayastan (Armenia) by Armen Smbatyan, arranged for santur, together with her beloved teacher, Anjela Mikayelyan.
The teacher-student cultural dialogue was joined by the audience as well, becoming an unexpected and touching highlight of the event.
